MY LIFE IN SCOTLAND

SHINTY THE SCOTLAND POPULAR SPORT

Shinty is a traditional Scottish sport. Lengend says that the game, which is similar to the Irish game of Hurling, was brought to Scotland from Ireland by Saint Columba in the year 563 AD. It's especially popular in the north and west of Scotland.

Shitiy is played by two teams of 12 players. Each player uses a stick. It's a rough game, so you run a lot, and you have to be fast if you want to score!

To score, you have to hit a small hard ball through the goals. A Shinty pitch is almost he size of 3 football pithces!
